About Me and My Blog

I am a Christian wife, mother, grandmother, teacher, friend and who ever else I am. I have been married for thirty-one years to my best friend, Greg. We live in a small town in East Texas. I am the FCS County Extension Agent. I enjoy sewing, camping, gardening, spending time with family, traveling, riding with Greg on his motorcycle. I am learning about beekeeping, soapmaking, rainwater catchment and other farmish type activities.
The name of my blog comes from a sermon I heard once about a time when Paul had been arrested and was being taken to Rome as a prisoner. The ship, on which he traveled found safe harbor, for the winter, at a place called Fairhaven. The captain of the ship wasn't content with staying so he set sail again and later was ship wrecked. I apply this to my life in that I want to be content with where God has me and what he has for me. If I am not I may end up like the ship that carried Paul, shipwrecked.

The picture on the left is a snap shot of Courtney when she was about two, I guess. I went to www.picnik.com and did some editing. On this website are many special effects that can be added to pictures. This is a free service, but if you want more you can pay and get more special effects and options. It is a lot of fun and I look forward to taking my old pictures that are losing their color and fading out and restoring them.
Wednesday was Greg and Gary's 50th birthday. Today Mrs. Pearson cooked lunch for them. It was sure good eating.

My cute little chicks have turned into grown chickens. I look forward to fresh eggs.

This is Chisum, named after John Wayne in the movie "Chisum". His nick name is Happy Dog, just look at that tail and the smile.

Man, oh, man it has been a long time since I have posted anything. That doesn't mean nothing has been happening, it just means I haven't had time to sit down and post. Since school is out I am in a frenzy trying to get ALL the things on my to do list done. I have three pages and panic a little when I realize summer is almost half way over. Here are a couple of pictures from last month and I hope to have new ones soon.

Courtney and Darrell at my mom and dad's house on May 10. We were celebrating Mother's Day, Dad's birthday, and Darrell's birthday.

There isn't really a pooch there yet, but it won't be long. Courtney keeps complaining about not showing yet and I keep telling her "just wait".

Miscellaneous

No baby pooch yet.
These are the baby chicks I bought three weeks ago. This is when I first got them. They have grow tremendously. I will include a picture of how big they have gotten soon.

I was out of town for the weekend and Greg actually washed a load of clothes and hung them on the line. I took a picture for proof.

Last Sunday at church

Last Sunday Todd, Janice and the boys were in for a visit. Micah had been saved several years ago, but never baptized. So, they wanted to baptize him at our home church in a swimming pool. I was glad we could all be apart of the baptism.

Planting at Mike and Linda's

A few weeks back we went out and helped Mike and Linda on their farm. Since their car accident they haven't been able to do a lot so we went and helped them plant green beans and potatoes. Can't you just taste a big pot of green beans with new potatoes floating around in them? The top picture is Linda and her cast and the next two are Greg and Mike hard at work. The day before we came out to help, Mike was running the tiller with broken ribs. I think we came to help just in time.
